I attended the 60th Annual Meeting of the Japan Medical Society of Spinal Cord Lesion, held at JP Tower in Tokyo on November 13–14, 2025.
The theme of this year’s meeting was
“Interdisciplinary Challenges for Spinal Cord Disorders,”
bringing together clinicians, researchers, and rehabilitation specialists from all over Japan to discuss the latest advancements in the field. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the scientific exchange was highly stimulating.

◆ I Presented at the Symposium
I had the privilege of serving as a speaker in
Symposium 1: “Basics and Clinical Aspects of Spinal Cord Injury.”
My presentation was titled:
“Muse Cell–Based Therapy for Spinal Cord Injury.”
I discussed our clinical research progress, the biological characteristics of Muse cells, and the therapeutic potential of this unique cell population. The session drew a large audience—so much so that there were people standing in the back—which led to active questions and meaningful discussion.
Although spinal cord injury remains one of the most challenging fields in regenerative medicine, recent advancements in cell therapy, drug development, and neurorehabilitation provide a growing sense of optimism for future treatment strategies.

◆ A Highly Productive Two Days
The meeting featured inspiring special lectures on the forefront of neurorehabilitation and regenerative medicine for the central nervous system.
Every session offered insights that could be directly incorporated into clinical practice or spark new research ideas.
It was also a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and friends from across the country, making the two days both academically and personally fulfilling.

◆ Closing Thoughts
As the 60th anniversary meeting, this year’s event felt particularly meaningful and well-organized.
I came away with renewed energy and a strong sense of responsibility to continue contributing to the advancement of spinal cord injury research and treatment.
I look forward to returning next year with even more progress to share.

第60回 日本脊髄障害医学会に参加してきました。
今年のテーマは
「脊髄障害に対する学際的挑戦」
ということで、脊髄障害を扱う医師、研究者、セラピストの皆さんが全国から集まり、最新の知見を共有する大変活気ある学会でした。

◆ シンポジウムで発表してきました
今回私は、
シンポジウム1「脊髄損傷の基礎と臨床」
にて、
**「MUSE細胞を用いた脊髄損傷治療」**について発表しました。
臨床研究の経過や、Muse細胞の特徴、そして今後の治療応用の可能性についてお話ししましたが、会場には立ち見が出るほどの参加者が集まり、議論も非常に盛り上がりました。
脊髄損傷治療は再生医療の中でも難易度が高い領域ですが、細胞治療、創薬、リハビリテーションなど多方面からのアプローチが進んでおり、改めて「少しずつ未来が開けてきている」ことを実感しました。

◆ 充実の2日間
学会では、ニューロリハビリテーションの最前線や中枢神経系の再生医療の最新研究など、非常に刺激的な特別講演が続きました。
どのセッションも内容が濃く、「これは臨床にすぐ活かせる」「これは研究のヒントになる」と思うことばかりでした。
また、整形外科、リハビリ、泌尿器科を含め、全国の先生方とも再会し、近況を語り合うことができ、非常に充実した2日間となりました。

◆ 最後に
節目の第60回大会ということもあり、学術的にも運営面でも大変すばらしい学会でした。
脊髄損傷治療の未来に向け、引き続き研究と臨床の両面から貢献していきたいと思います。
また来年の学会で、さらに良い報告ができるよう努力してまいります。
